Attendance & Code of Conduct

for Cognaigen

At Cognaigen, we aim to create a professional, respectful, supportive and career-focused learning environment for every student. This Attendance & Code of Conduct Policy explains what we expect from students during live classes, webinars, workshops, mentoring sessions, group activities and online learning.

By enrolling on a Cognaigen course, students agree to follow this policy.

1. Attendance Policy

1.1 Attendance Requirement

Students are expected to attend all scheduled classes, workshops, mentoring sessions and assessment-related sessions.
Regular attendance is important because Cognaigen courses are designed around:

  • Live instructor-led learning
  • Practical demonstrations
  • Real-time Q&A
  • Group discussion
  • Project-based tasks
  • Career guidance and mentoring
  • Capstone/project preparation

Poor attendance may affect the student’s learning progress, completion status, certificate eligibility and access to career support services.

1.2 Minimum Attendance Expectation

Students should aim to maintain at least 95% attendance across the course.
For some programmes, projects or certification pathways, a higher attendance requirement may apply. Where this is the case, students will be informed before or during enrolment.

1.3 Joining Classes on Time

Students must join classes on time and remain for the full session unless they have a valid reason to leave early.
Students joining late may miss important explanations, practical steps or instructions. Repeated lateness may be treated as poor attendance.

Students should ideally join online classes 5 minutes before the scheduled start time to check their internet connection, audio, video and learning tools.

1.4 Absence from Class

If a student cannot attend a class, they should notify Cognaigen as early as possible.
Students may be asked to provide a reason for absence, especially where absence affects:

  • Course completion
  • Assessment participation
  • Group project work
  • Career mentoring sessions
  • Certificate eligibility

1.5 Repeated Absence

If a student repeatedly misses classes without notice, Cognaigen may contact the student to understand the reason and offer support where possible.
However, repeated absence may result in:

  • Missed learning outcomes
  • Reduced access to live support
  • Ineligibility for completion certificate
  • Removal from group project activities
  • Delay in course completion

Loss of access to certain mentoring or career support services

1.6 Recordings and Catch-Up Materials

Where Cognaigen provides recordings, slides, notes or catch-up resources, these are for the enrolled student’s personal learning only.
Students must not copy, share, upload, sell, distribute or publicly post any Cognaigen learning materials without written permission.

1.7 Attendance and Certification

To receive a course completion certificate, students may need to meet attendance, participation, assessment and project requirements.
Cognaigen may withhold a completion certificate if a student:

  • Does not meet the minimum attendance requirement
  • Does not complete required assignments or projects
  • Does not participate sufficiently in practical activities
  • Breaches this Code of Conduct
  • Misuses Cognaigen materials or systems

A certificate confirms course participation and completion of required learning activities. It does not guarantee employment, promotion, visa approval or professional accreditation unless specifically stated in writing.

2. Student Participation Expectations

Students are expected to participate actively and professionally in the learning process.
This includes:

  • Attending classes regularly
  • Completing assigned tasks on time
  • Asking questions respectfully
  • Taking part in discussions
  • Following trainer instructions
  • Practising independently outside class
  • Preparing for project and assessment work
  • Communicating clearly if they need support

Cognaigen encourages students to ask questions and seek help. However, students are also expected to take personal responsibility for their own learning progress.
